Common questions

The questions customers ask us most, answered properly. If yours is not here, message us on WhatsApp and we will answer it directly.

Do you make stone products to custom sizes?

Yes. Almost everything we make is produced to order, so the size is yours to set. For fitted work such as balustrades, worktops and steps we template on site before cutting, so every piece fits the actual opening rather than a standard measurement. Send a drawing, a photo or even a rough sketch with measurements and we will quote from that.

Do you deliver and install across Cyprus?

Yes. We are based in Chloraka, Paphos, and we deliver and install across the whole island, including Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca and Famagusta. We install what we sell, from setting a single planter to fitting a full balustrade run, plumbing a fountain, or laying a complete pool surround.

What is Syrian stone and why do you use it?

Natural Syrian stone is a dense limestone with a warm cream colour and a fine, even grain. It is a traditional carving stone: hard enough to hold sharp detail in a baluster or a carved urn, yet workable enough to shape by hand. It also weathers well in a hot, dry climate with salt air, which is why it suits Cyprus.

Does natural stone get too hot to walk on around a pool?

Much less than the alternatives. Natural stone stays noticeably cooler underfoot than concrete, porcelain or dark composite paving, because it is dense and pale and reflects rather than absorbs heat. For pool areas we supply textured, anti-slip finishes rather than polished ones, which adds grip when wet and keeps the surface cooler still.

Will stone crack in winter or fade in the Cyprus sun?

Dense natural stone does not fade the way resin, concrete or painted finishes do; it weathers slowly and tends to look better with age. Cyprus winters are not cold enough for the freeze and thaw damage that affects stone in northern Europe. The usual cause of a cracked piece is movement in the base beneath it, which is why we prepare the sub-base properly rather than setting heavy stone straight onto soft ground.

Can you match new stone to what I already have?

Usually, yes. Bring or send a photo of the existing stone, and a small offcut if you have one. We can match the stone type, the colour range and the finish, and reproduce a profile such as a baluster shape or an edge detail. Natural stone varies between batches, so an exact match is not always possible, and we will tell you honestly when a close match is the realistic outcome.

Do stone and marble worktops stain?

Natural stone and marble are porous, so they can mark if a spill is left sitting, particularly acidic things like lemon juice, wine or vinegar. We seal every worktop before it leaves us, and resealing every year or two keeps that protection up. Day to day, wipe spills reasonably promptly and use a pH neutral cleaner rather than a limescale remover or bleach.

How much maintenance does a stone fountain need?

Very little. Keep the water topped up so the pump never runs dry, since running dry is what kills a pump. Empty and rinse the basin a couple of times a year, and use a little algae treatment suitable for ornamental water in hot weather. The stone itself needs nothing. If you leave a fountain switched off for a long spell, drain the basin so standing water does not go stagnant.

What does a stone fountain, balustrade or worktop cost?

It depends on four things: the size, the stone, the finish and how much carving is involved. Access matters too, since a piece that has to be carried up a hill costs more to install than one a lorry can reach. Rather than give a range that would be wrong for most projects, we would rather look at yours. Send photos and rough measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a clear price.

Do you supply stone only, or do you do the whole job?

Either. Plenty of customers buy tiles, slabs or a single planter and take it from there. Others hand us the whole job, and we measure, make, deliver, install, grout and seal. We also carry out painting and general property renovation, so a stone terrace or a fireplace can be part of a larger piece of work rather than a separate trade to coordinate.

Have a project in mind?

Send us a photo of your space and a rough idea of what you want. We will come back with options and a clear price.
